Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.This project is based on the cohort population in Beijing in the "Cardiovascular Disease Cohort of Multiple Provinces and Cities in China" previously established by the research team, which was established by the prospective cohort study method under the funding of the national "Eighth Five-Year Plan" research project that began in 1992. The sampling method was stratified random sampling by age and sex. In 2002, a total of 1,324 men and women aged 45-74 years were subjected to risk factor surveys, carotid ultrasonography and genetic testing. In 2012, we again performed a risk factor survey and carotid ultrasound.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Eighty-eight patients with cardiovascular disease, cancer, severe liver and kidney disease, statin lipid-modulating drugs and acute infection at baseline were excluded, 64 died and 65 were lost to follow-up at 10-year follow-up, of which 943 were given a second ultrasound examination for prospective analysis.
