Age
No minimum to 6 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Infants who were born at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University or followed up in the ophthalmology department of the hospital. 2.They have a documented record of preterm birth (gestational age < 37 weeks); 3.They have undergone at least one standardized refractive examination during early childhood (0–6 years), with recorded sphere and cylinder measurements available for calculating the spherical equivalent. 4.Their mothers or guardians are contactable and agree to provide or authorize the use of supplementary data collected via a retrospective questionnaire (for variables requiring supplementation, such as details of prenatal sleep).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Infants with known congenital ocular diseases that directly cause refractive errors (e.g., congenital retinal disorders). 2.Infants with severe central nervous system diseases (e.g., cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, sequelae of intracranial hemorrhage that significantly affect the visual pathway), chromosomal abnormalities, or known genetic syndromes. 3.Infants with missing information on key study variables (refractive outcome, gestational age, birth weight), precluding their inclusion in the primary analysis.
