Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for the sepsis group were as follows: (1) meeting the Sepsis-3 international diagnostic criteria; (2) aged 18–75 years; (3) having complete clinical records and laboratory data; (4) being able to cooperate with peripheral blood sampling; (5) providing written informed consent. 2. For the healthy control group, the criteria were: (1) undergoing routine health check-ups during the same period; (2) matched with the sepsis group for age and sex; (3) having no acute or chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, malignancies, or severe chronic disorders of the heart, liver, or kidneys; (4) not taking any immunomodulatory agents within the previous 3 months; (5) voluntarily participating and signing informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age 75 years; 2. Presence of malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, hematologic disorders, end-stage organ failure, or other severe comorbidities; 3. Long-term use of glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, or other medications affecting immune function; 4. Pregnancy or lactation; 5. Incomplete clinical data, inability to cooperate with sample collection, or unwillingness to participate in the study.
