Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years old; 2. ICU stay duration >= 24 hours; 3. Confirmed unobstructed communication between the patient and the investigators.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women; 2. A history of mental illness or preoperative mental abnormalities; 3. Severe craniocerebral injury; 4. Patients with delirium before ICU admission; 5. Patients with a persistent Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score <= 8 points or a Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale (RASS) score of 3–5 points after ICU admission.
