Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age > 18 years. 2. First time in the ICU. 3. Expected survival time >= 24 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant or breastfeeding women. 2. Patients who underwent CPR during this hospital stay. 3. Those with clear causes of central nervous system diseases, including: acute cerebrovascular disease (e.g., hemiplegia, cranial nerve palsy); central nervous system infection (e.g., increased cerebrospinal fluid cell count); organ-related encephalopathy (e.g., hepatic, renal, pulmonary, or pancreatic encephalopathy); drug-related encephalopathy (e.g., antipsychotics, serotonin syndrome, antibiotics); other encephalopathies (head trauma, intracranial tumors, immune-related encephalopathy, metabolic encephalopathy, etc.). 4. Patients unable to cooperate with EEG monitoring (e.g., scalp injury/infection).
