Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A total of 1,500 copies of the BES and DTS were distributed to undergraduate students at a university in Guizhou Province. Ultimately, 1,342 valid responses were retained for analysis, identifying 98 college students with binge eating behavior (BES score > 17 points; 30). Approximately one week before the intervention began (pretest), the BES was readministered; only those who still scored above the cutoff (n = 36) were enrolled into the trial and contacted by telephone to schedule their participation. The remaining 62 no longer met the criterion and were excluded.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants who self-reported having a mental illness were excluded because they were currently receiving clinical treatment (such as medication and/or psychotherapy).
