Study (1) Intervention group:Under ultrasound guidance, bilateral intermediate cervical plexus block is performed with 6 mL of 0.3% ropivacaine on each side, totaling 12 mL for both sides
Study (1) Control group:Under ultrasound guidance, bilateral intermediate cervical plexus block is performed with 6 mL of normal saline on each side, totaling 12 mL for both sides.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18–65 years 2. BMI 18–28 kg/m² 3. ASA physical status I–II 4. Patients scheduled for elective thyroid surgery 5. Signed informed consent The same inclusion criteria were applied in both Study (1) and Study (2).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with difficult airway (Mallampati class III–IV) (Mallampati III–IV) 2. Patients with untreated or poorly controlled hyperthyroidism 3. Patients with coagulation disorders, severe respiratory diseases, or severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases 4. Patients with infection at the site of nerve block 5. Patients allergic to local anesthetics 6. Patients with long-term use of opioids or psychotropic drugs, or a history of alcoholism 7. Patients undergoing neck lymph node dissection The same exclusion criteria were applied in both Study (1) and Study (2).
