Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meet the Chinese diagnostic criteria for Parkinson’s disease (PD); 2. Aged >= 18 years old; 3. Underwent bilateral subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) or globus pallidus interna deep brain stimulation (GPi-DBS); 4. Complete preoperative and postoperative cognitive function assessment records available in medical charts.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Preoperative severe dementia (defined as Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score < 20 or clinical diagnosis of dementia); 2. Concomitant other severe neurological diseases or severe unstable internal medical illnesses; 3. Incomplete medical records that preclude judgment of the primary outcome.
