Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with unilateral or bilateral posterior scleritis at the Eye Hospital affiliated with Wenzhou Medical University between January 2017 and June 2025 were included. 2. Diagnostic criteria: Acute or subacute onset of symptoms, such as ocular redness, eye pain, or pain upon eye movement. Ocular pain, with or without vision loss, and with or without fundus abnormalities (e.g., optic disc edema, macular edema, exudative retinal detachment). B-scan or color Doppler ultrasound demonstrating thickening of the posterior sclera. 3. Age: 8-70 years old, open to all genders.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with clinically confirmed posterior scleritis but incomplete clinical data lack results of ocular B-ultrasound or color Doppler ultrasound; patients with confirmed macular lesions lack results of OCT examinations. 2. Diseases similar to posterior scleritis that are mainly caused by other ocular lesions, such as acute orbital cellulitis, orbital space-occupying lesions, thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy, orbital inflammatory pseudotumor, etc. 3. Low-quality OCT images (due to severe cataracts or unstable fixation).
