Thymic hyperplasia with lymphoepithelial sialadenitis-like features (LESA-like thymic hyperplasia) is a rare thymic hyperplastic lesion. This lesion was first formally reported and named by Weissferdt and Moran in 2012. Its histological characteristics are similar to lymphoepithelial sialadenitis (LESA) of the salivary glands, but it occurs in thymic tissue.

20 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Cases diagnosed in the Pathology Department of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University or the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from January 1, 2017, to July 30, 2025; 2. Cases independently reviewed by two senior pathologists with rich experience, meeting the diagnostic criteria for LESA-type thymic hyperplasia; 3. Complete pathological histology data. 4. Basic clinical data.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pathological diagnosis is other thymic diseases. 2.The tissue specimen is insufficient or improperly preserved, making accurate pathological assessment impossible. 3.The quality of HE-stained sections is poor, affecting morphological assessment. 4.Clinical data is severely missing, making it impossible to obtain basic clinical information.
