Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18 and above, who have signed the informed consent form; 2. Meet the diagnostic criteria for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion; 3. Plan to undergo surgical treatment, and during the operation, a nucleus pulposus sample can be obtained; 4. Can complete fecal and peripheral blood collection before the surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Recent use of antibiotics, probiotics, or other drugs/preparations that significantly affect gut microbiota; 2.Concurrent active infection, severe gastrointestinal dysfunction, tumor, immune system disease, spinal infection, pregnancy, severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, etc. 3.Prior history of spinal surgery, significant post-traumatic deformity, or congenital spinal deformity; 4.Predominantly manifesting as obvious myelopathy and not suitable for pain stratification; 5.Inability to cooperate with sample collection; 6.Unqualified nucleus pulposus, fecal, or blood samples;
