Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Age between 18 and 75 years; 2.(Retrospective study) Previous pathological diagnosis of porto-sinusoidal vascular disease (PSVD), cirrhosis, or relatively normal liver tissue (e.g., mild hepatic inflammation, surgical margins of benign liver tumors, or donor liver biopsy tissue). The diagnosis of PSVD is based on the recommended criteria from the Baveno VII Consensus (2022): liver histology must exclude cirrhosis and other known causes of portal hypertension; 3.(Retrospective study) Biopsy specimens preserved in good condition and meeting sequencing quality requirements, with complete clinical data available, including sex, age, laboratory findings, imaging data, and pathological results. 4.(Prospective study) Patients with unexplained liver injury, liver cirrhosis, or portal hypertension who were scheduled to undergo transjugular liver biopsy; 5.(Prospective study) Histopathological diagnosis of PSVD, liver cirrhosis, or relatively normal liver tissue (diagnostic criteria as described above).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Retrospective study 1. Inadequate liver biopsy specimens (length <15 mm or fewer than 11 portal tracts), or inability to establish a definite pathological diagnosis; 2. Presence of portal hypertension caused by other clearly defined etiologies (such as portal cavernoma transformation, Budd–Chiari syndrome, or sinusoidal obstruction syndrome), or other definite liver diseases including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, or metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease; 3. Severe missing clinical data or inability to match clinical information; Prospective study 1. Liver biopsy specimens inadequate for clinicopathological diagnosis (biopsy specimen length <15 mm), no additional tissue available after meeting diagnostic requirements, or inconclusive histopathological diagnosis. 2. Portal hypertension attributable to other identifiable causes (e.g., portal cavernoma, Budd–Chiari syndrome, or hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome) or other defined liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, or MASLD. 3. Patients who declined the use of their liver biopsy and blood samples for medical research.
