Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Group with lung cancer and concomitant cardiopulmonary disease (100 cases): Paraffin-embedded tissue blocks from surgical resections of lung cancer archived in the Pathology Department, where the same patient was simultaneously diagnosed with cardiopulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or heart failure. (2) Control group with isolated lung cancer (50 cases): Paraffin-embedded tissue blocks from surgical resections of lung cancer archived in the pathology department, where the same patient had no concomitant cardiopulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or heart failure, nor a history of metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Samples meeting any of the following criteria shall not be included: (1) The sample donor is known to have an infectious disease such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection or syphilis. 2. The sample donor’s clinical diagnostic data is severely incomplete, or the paraffin tissue blocks exhibit serious quality issues such as severe loss of sections, damage, poor fixation or tissue autolysis, rendering them unsuitable for subsequent testing.
