Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years old; 2. Hospitalized in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Affiliated Provincial Hospital of Fuzhou University between 2012 and 2025; 3. Main diagnosis is upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB), confirmed through clinical symptoms (vomiting blood, black stools, etc.) and endoscopic examination.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a known history of gout; 2.Patients who developed a gout flare within the first 24 hours of admission.
