Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.The database was screened to identify sepsis related ICU admissions in adults (age =18 years). For this study, only data on initial ICU admission for each episode were used. Patients from the MIME-IV database who met criteria for sepsis were included in the study. The septicity-3 criterion is used to define sepsis.
