Questionnaire administration group:None
Mindfulness Meditation Group:The participants underwent an 8-week self-guided practice of mindfulness meditation.
The Compassion Meditation Group:The participants underwent an 8-week self-guided practice of compassion meditation.
Waiting Group:The subjects were required to wait for eight weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study 1: 1.voluntary participation;2.age ranging from 18 to 30 years old, inclusive of 18 and 30;3.undergraduate or graduate students studying at universities in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province;4.able to understand the questionnaire content and able to independently complete the questionnaire filling. Study 2: 1.select "voluntary participation in the follow-up intervention trial" at the end of the quantitative research questionnaire;2.depression subscale score in the Anxiety-Depression-Stress Scale is less than 21 points, anxiety subscale score is less than 15 points, and stress subscale score is less than 26 points; 3.the average score of the Emotional Eating Questionnaire is >= 2.5 points; 4.based on the Structured Interview of the "DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria for Disorders" (SCID-5-RV) conducted by Project Leader Zheng Zheng (psychiatrist, National Second-level Psychological Counselor, Registered Clinical and Counseling Psychologist of the Chinese Psychological Society), it does not meet the diagnostic criteria for eating disorders; 5.BMI is between 18.5 - 25 Kg/m^2; 6.healthy, without organic diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Study 1: 1.Subjects with obvious difficulties in reading comprehension, unable to understand or complete relevant questionnaires; 2.Incomplete questionnaire responses, with significant missing values for the main research variables; 3.Obvious invalid responses in the questionnaires, such as regular answering patterns, extremely short answering times, or logical contradictions in the answers. Study 2: 1.with a score of >=21 on the depression sub - scale, >=15 on the anxiety sub - scale, and >=26 on the stress sub - scale of the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale; 2.with an average score of <2.5 on the Emotional Eating Questionnaire; 3.meet the diagnostic criteria for eating disorders through the SCID - 5 - RV structured interview; 4.have or currently have other mental disorders (such as schizophrenia, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, etc.); 5.have or currently have organic diseases; 6.have or currently are receiving psychological or pharmacological treatment related to eating problems; 7.have or currently are undergoing mindfulness or meditation training;8.students of the researchers; 9.pregnant women and lactating women.
