Interventions

Control group (C):Anesthesia induction with 2 µg/kg fentanyl
Experimental group (A):Anesthesia induction with 0.5 mg/kg esketamine
Experimental group (B):Anesthesia induction with 1mg/kg esketamine

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children aged 3 to 7 years scheduled for elective adenoidectomy were enrolled. Their body mass index (BMI) and body weight were within the normal range for their respective ages (BMI: 13.4–17.8 kg/m^2); 2. The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status was class I or II; 3. The expected duration of surgery was less than one hour.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Upper respiratory tract infection within the past week; 2. Allergy to local anesthetics; 3. Hypersensitivity to opioids or esketamine; 4. Severe cardiovascular or pulmonary disease; 5. Severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
