Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >=65 years upon ICU admission. 2. Meets the definition of an active tumor. 3. Planned or unplanned ICU admission to the study center during the study period. 4. At least one ALC value and one CRP value within 0–72 hours after ICU admission; the main analysis requires that the subject is still alive and not lost to follow-up at the 72-hour landmark.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age < 65 years. 2. Does not meet the definition of operable active tumor. 3. For patients readmitted to the ICU during the same hospitalization, only the first ICU admission record is kept. 4. ICU stay for routine postoperative monitoring less than 24 hours and without organ support. 5. Patients who had switched to comfort care before or at ICU admission. 6. Outcomes at 90 days are still missing after reasonable medical record linkage, phone follow-up, and death information verification.
