Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patient Group: 1. Meets the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5); the diagnosis is independently assessed and confirmed by two qualified psychiatrists; 2. First episode of illness and has not received any psychotropic medication; 3. Aged 18–65 years; 4. No gender restriction, Han ethnicity; 5. Education level of primary school or above, capable of cooperating to complete neurocognitive function tests; 6. Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) score = 60; 7. The patient or their legal guardian voluntarily participates in the study and signs a written informed consent form. Control Group: 1. The control group consists of healthy individuals recruited to match the patient group in terms of age, gender, and education level.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Substance dependence or abuse, or mental retardation. 2.Presence of severe neurological diseases, such as stroke, epilepsy, or brain inflammation, or other diseases that may affect central nervous system function. 3.Presence of severe physical diseases, such as endocrine disorders, cardiovascular diseases, or liver and kidney dysfunction. 4.Pregnant or lactating women. 5.Use of medications that may affect the immune system within 3 months before the study, such as glucocorticoids or immunosuppressants. 6.Patients receiving combined electroconvulsive therapy. 7.Unable to cooperate with or refuse to participate in this study.
