Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study will recruit healthy individuals, patients with simple hypothyroidism and those with hypothyroidism combined with depression, and collect their clinical data, fecal samples and plasma samples. Depressive symptoms were evaluated by the PHQ-9 score, and patients were grouped in combination with the results of thyroid function tests.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. A lifelong history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or other mental disorders; 2. A history of diagnosed medical conditions (e.g. chronic inflammatory conditions, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or cancer); 3. Alcohol abuse, substance abuse or acute intoxication; 4. Current pregnancy or breastfeeding; 5. Reported changes in dietary habits or antibiotic use within one month prior to sampling.
