Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children younger than 14 years; 2.History of enterostomy (ileostomy or colostomy) for congenital or acquired gastrointestinal disease, followed by at least one prior unsuccessful attempt at closure; 3. Definition of Closure Failure: Documented onset of definitive symptoms related to surgical failure after the previous closure procedure, specifically including: persistent or progressively worsening abdominal distension;recurrent vomiting (bilious or feculent emesis);recurrent enteritis;refractory constipation (defined as <=2 bowel movements per week unresponsive to conservative management).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients whose initial enterostomy and closure were performed for intestinal malignancy, active infectious enteritis (e.g., tuberculosis), or inflammatory bowel disease (e.g., Crohn's disease); 2. Patients whose legal guardians declined the current definitive surgery or refused to participate in the study and follow-up; 3.Patients with incomplete clinical records that precluded definitive determination of the cause of closure failure or assessment of outcomes; 4. Patients with severe congenital or end-stage disease of the heart, liver, kidneys, or nervous system, rendering them unfit for reoperation or anesthesia; 5. Patients who required reoperation due to external factors such as trauma or iatrogenic injury following the initial closure attempt.
