Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Guided by the Chinese Expert Consensus on Dry Eye Examination and Diagnosis (2020), 60 patients (aged 8–18 years) who were initially diagnosed with dry eye syndrome at Wuhan Aier Eye Hospital Hankou Branch between July 2024 and December 2024 due to symptoms such as frequent blinking, eye redness, dryness, grittiness, foreign body sensation, and a burning sensation were included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Recent history of acute ocular surface infection; 2. Superficial corneal epithelial damage caused by trichiasis, conjunctival (foreign bodies), or trauma to the conjunctiva and/or cornea; 3. Presence of other eye conditions such as obvious eyelid masses, eye pain, ciliary congestion, anterior chamber reaction, or visual acuity reduction; 4. Individuals unable to understand or cooperate with examination procedures.
