Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Healthy Control Group: (1)Chinese Han ethnicity, aged 18-65 years, male or female, with at least primary school education; (2)No mental disorder meeting ICD-10 or DSM-5 diagnostic criteria; (3)Does not meet the diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome (according to IDF criteria); (4)Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) score = 18; (5)Voluntary participation with signed written informed consent. 3. Depression with Comorbid Metabolic Syndrome Group: (1)Meets ICD-10 or DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for depressive disorder, and does not meet criteria for any other Axis I diagnosis in DSM-IV; (2)Chinese Han ethnicity, aged 18-65 years, male or female, with at least primary school education; (3)Meets the diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome (according to IDF criteria: central obesity plus any two metabolic abnormalities); (4)Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) score >= 18; (5)Voluntary participation with signed written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Other psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder/schizophrenia/substance dependence; 2.Severe physical diseases (e.g., cancer, liver failure) not including metabolic syndrome; 3.Presence of primary sleep apnea (AHI > 15); 4.History of severe traumatic brain injury or central nervous system diseases; 5.Pregnant or lactating women; 6.Received ECT/MECT treatment within the past 6 months; 7.Refusal to sign a written informed consent form.
