Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients over 18 years old; 2. Ankle fracture (time from injury to surgery <= 3 weeks); 3. Fracture type belongs to any of the following: isolated lateral malleolus fracture, bimalleolar fracture, or trimalleolar fracture; 4. The fracture is displaced and has been evaluated to have a clear indication for surgery; 5. The patient understands the study and voluntarily signs a written informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Open fractures (Gustilo-Anderson type III); 2. Pilon fractures, defined as comminuted fractures involving the distal tibial articular surface; 3. Fractures associated with nerve injury or major vascular injury requiring emergency exploration and management; 4. Pathological fractures or severe osteoporosis (DEXA T-score 8.5%) accompanied by peripheral neuropathy or occlusive vascular disease; 6. Severe systemic disease rendering the patient unable to tolerate anesthesia or surgery (ASA classification > III); 7. Pregnancy or lactation; 8. The presence of psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment, or anticipated poor postoperative compliance precluding cooperation with follow-up.
