Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Case group: 1. Children with ADHD who meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD in the DSM-IV, as confirmed by a psychiatrist at the level of attending physician or higher; 2. Aged 6-16 years; 3. Not previously treated with medication for ADHD; 4. Have normal vision or corrected vision; 5. Be right-handed; 6. No neurological or other serious physical illnesses; 7. No history of severe, coma-inducing traumatic brain injury. Control group: 1. Does not meet the diagnostic criteria for any of the psychiatric disorders in the DSM-IV, as confirmed by a psychiatrist of attending physician or higher; 2. Aged 6-16 years; 3. No prior medication for mental illness; 4. Have normal vision or corrected vision; 5. Right-handedness; 6. No neurological or other serious physical illness; 7. No history of serious, coma-inducing traumatic brain injury.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Wechsler Intelligence Test < 80; 2. Comorbidity with schizophrenia, affective disorders, epilepsy, and other organic neurological disorders.
