Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All AERs included in the experimental study were in clinical use prior to the experiment. 2. All endoscopes included in the study were gastrointestinal endoscopes routinely used in clinical cycles prior to the experiment. 3. Both the AERs and endoscopes were structurally intact and fully functional. 4. Only AERs that had undergone the standard terminal cleaning and disinfection protocol before sampling, and whose key information (including commissioning time, maintenance records, and water source type) could be fully obtained, were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Equipment that was awaiting repair due to malfunction, had been idle for an extended period, or was newly installed but not yet officially put into clinical use. 2. AERs dedicated to reprocessing endoscopes from patients with known specific pathogen infections. 3. Any incident that may have caused unconventional contamination within 24 hours prior to sampling.
