Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years; 2. Presence of any one of criteria (1)–(2) plus criterion (5), with non-infectious diseases excluded: (1) New-onset cough and sputum production, or worsening of pre-existing respiratory symptoms accompanied by purulent sputum, with or without chest pain; (2) Fever; (3) Signs of pulmonary consolidation and/or moist rales on auscultation; (4) White blood cell (WBC) count >10 × 10?/L or <4 × 10?/L, with or without a left shift of neutrophils; (5) Chest radiography showing patchy or confluent infiltrative opacities and/or interstitial changes, with or without pleural effusion. 3. The participant or their legally authorized representative fully understands the study information and provides written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosis of severe pneumonia on the day of enrollment, meeting either at least one major criterion or three or more minor criteria: (1)Major criteria: 1) Requirement for endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation; 2) Septic shock requiring vasopressor therapy despite adequate fluid resuscitation. (2)Minor criteria: 1) Respiratory rate >= 30 breaths/min; 2) Oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2) = 7.14 mmol/L; 6) Systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg requiring aggressive fluid resuscitation. 2.Suspected non-infectious pulmonary disease at the time of hospital admission; 3.Expected hospital stay of less than 1 day; 4.Pregnant women;
