Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Age requirement: Participants must be between 18 and 65 years old. 2.Lifestyle habits: Participants must not have taken medications affecting the microbiome or metabolome (such as antibiotics, probiotics, etc.) in the past month. 3. Willingness to participate: Participants voluntarily participate in this study and sign the informed consent form. 4.Traditional Chinese diet. 5.Voluntary participation in this study. 6.Long-term residents of Luoyang, with no long-term residence outside the area in the past year. 7.Vitiligo patient group: In accordance with the "Vitiligo Diagnosis and Treatment Consensus (2024 Edition)", participants meet the diagnostic criteria for vitiligo and are confirmed by a dermatologist to have progressive, moderate to severe non-segmental vitiligo. 8. Healthy control group: Healthy volunteers are recruited with age, gender, body mass index, smoking, and drinking status similar to the vitiligo patient group, and without a family history of vitiligo.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Comorbidities: Presence of other severe skin diseases (such as psoriasis, eczema, etc.) or systemic diseases (such as autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases, obesity, autism, immunodeficiency, etc.). A history of gastrointestinal surgery or coexisting gastrointestinal diseases such as gastroenteritis, inflammatory bowel disease, or digestive system tumors. History of psychiatric disorders or malignant tumors. 2.Drug intervention: Use of antibiotics, immunosuppressants, hormone drugs, or other medications that may affect the gut microbiota within 1 month prior to participation in the study. 3.Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Women who are planning to conceive, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. 4.Mental health: Presence of severe mental health problems (such as major depression, anxiety, etc., screened by scales) that may affect the study results. 5.Other factors: Participants who plan to make any dietary or lifestyle changes during the study that may affect the gut microbiota or metabolism. 6.Irregular diet or special dietary habits (vegetarians/meat-eaters). 7.Drug or alcohol abusers. 8.Unwillingness to comply with the study protocol. 9. Oral infections requiring antibiotic treatment within the past 6 months (such as acute periodontitis, periodontal abscess, necrotizing gingivitis, etc.). 10.Periodontal treatment received within the past 3 months (such as scaling, root planing, or periodontal surgery). 11.Severe oral diseases affecting the oral environment (such as oral cancer, large-area oral ulcers, oral lichen planus, xerostomia, etc.). 12.Tooth extraction or other oral surgery within the past month. 13.Wearing orthodontic appliances or removable dentures (fixed crowns or implants need to be recorded).
