Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age between 40 and 80 years. 2. First-ever stroke with hemiplegia, with a unilateral lesion. 3. Patients within 1 year of the first stroke onset, in the non-acute stage, and with a stable condition. 4. Stable vital signs and no progression of neurological symptoms. 5. Ability to walk independently for 10 m without any assistive device. 6. Clear consciousness, able to understand and follow the therapist’s instructions, and a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score greater than 24. 7. Provision of written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Ataxia. 2. Any disease or disability other than stroke that may interfere with training. 3. Recent botulinum toxin injection in the lower limbs. 4. Presence of any metallic implants in the body, such as a cardiac pacemaker, vagus nerve stimulator, or cochlear implant. 5. Use of any medications that may affect neural excitability, such as antidepressants or antiepileptic drugs. 6. Participation in other training programmes or drug trials during the study period.
