8 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meets the ICD-11 codes 6A00–6Z, diagnosed with a mental disorder, and requires hospitalization for MECT treatment; 2. Aged 8–65 years; 3. Normal cognitive function before surgery, MoCA score greater than 26 (if the participant has <=12 years of education, add 1 point to the total score); 4. The participant and/or guardian voluntarily agree to receive modified electroconvulsive therapy, agree to participate in this study, and sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are unable to cooperate with questionnaire surveys or undergo EEG examinations; 2. Those with a history of intracranial pressure disorders or glaucoma, epilepsy, brain tumors, brain injuries, and other neurological diseases; 3. Those with any psychoactive substance abuse or dependence (excluding nicotine); 4. Patients who are assessed by a professional EEG physician to have physical illnesses that may cause abnormal EEG results.
