Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meet the Sepsis-3.0 diagnostic criteria, with clear evidence of infection (such as positive blood culture, positive sputum culture, imaging findings suggesting an infectious focus, etc.) and a Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score >=2; 2. Age >=18 years; 3. Duration of antibiotic treatment >=48 hours; 4. Have complete procalcitonin (PCT) test data (number of tests >=3), clinical diagnosis and treatment records, and prognostic outcome information.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Severe immunodeficiency (e.g., long-term use of immunosuppressants, HIV/AIDS), end-stage malignant tumor, or being a pregnant/lactating woman; 2.Organ dysfunction induced mainly by viral/fungal infection or non-infectious inflammation (such as autoimmune diseases, inflammatory response after trauma); 3.Severe lack of key clinical data (such as dynamic PCT monitoring results, prognostic follow-up information); 4.Interruption of follow-up due to transfer to another hospital or voluntary discharge during treatment, resulting in failure to obtain complete prognostic data.
