Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Participants were patients aged between 18 and 75 years 2. Diagnosis of indirect inguinal hernia (classified as L3 according to EHS classification criteria, i.e. internal ring defect >=3 cm, including primary and recurrent cases)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Excluded were those with preoperative groin pain localized to the scrotal area, the presence of combined hernias (such as pantaloon hernia), strangulated hernias, loss of domain, and absolute clinical contraindications including active intra-abdominal infection or abdominal wall fistula.
