Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In vitro experiment: 1. Relatively regular, round or oval-shaped salivary gland stones with a diameter of 4–6 mm, completely removed with the assistance of endoscopic surgery. Clinical case study of holmium laser lithotripsy: 1. Patients attending the Sialendoscopy Center who meet the following criteria: (1) Patients with impacted parotid stones measuring 4–8 mm that are difficult to remove via the intraoral approach and who have significant aesthetic concerns about an external incision; (2) Patients with impacted hilar or intraglandular submandibular stones measuring 4–8 mm that are difficult to remove via the intraoral approach under local anesthesia (due to poor patient cooperation or difficulty in locating the stones); (3) Stones that can be directly visualized during sialendoscopy; (4) Age 18–70 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: In vitro experiment: 1. Patients with salivary gland stones in the presence of specific infections. Clinical case study of holmium laser lithotripsy: 1. Asymptomatic patients; 2. Patients unable to tolerate surgery due to underlying medical conditions; 3. Patients with severe stenosis of the salivary gland duct orifice or ductal obstruction that precludes successful sialendoscopy.
