Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >=18 years; 2. Documented atrial fibrillation confirmed by electrocardiogram within 6 months before enrollment (confirmed by 12-lead ECG, Holter monitoring, or device diagnosis, in accordance with the established AF cohort study methodology); 3. Availability of baseline echocardiographic images of sufficient quality to allow quantitative left ventricular assessment; 4. Ability to undergo structured longitudinal AF burden monitoring; 5. Provision of written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Structural cardiomyopathies that significantly affect ventricular morphology, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, infiltrative cardiomyopathy, or congenital heart disease with hemodynamic significance; 2. History of acute coronary syndrome, cardiac surgery, or decompensated heart failure within 3 months prior to enrollment; 3. Permanent ventricular pacing dependence or cardiac resynchronization therapy preventing accurate assessment of atrial rhythm; 4. Non-cardiac conditions resulting in an expected life expectancy of less than 1 year or inability to complete follow-up.
