Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Sepsis patients meeting the Sepsis-3 diagnostic criteria; 2. Meeting the Sepsis-3 diagnostic criteria for sepsis; 3. Presenting with acute respiratory insufficiency requiring non-invasive ventilation (NIV) as initial respiratory support; 4. Informed consent signed within 24 hours of enrollment (by the patient or their authorized representative).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Receiving invasive mechanical ventilation at the time of admission; 2. Combined with irreversible underlying diseases (advanced malignancy, end-stage liver/renal failure); 3. Expected ICU survival time < 24 hours; 4. Refusal to participate or inability to obtain samples on schedule.
