Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who underwent surgical treatment in our department for complex metacarpophalangeal joint dislocation with volar plate incarceration between 2012 and 2020; 2. Failed closed reduction and confirmed diagnosis of complex volar plate–incarcerated metacarpophalangeal joint dislocation; 3. Complete preoperative imaging (X-ray + MRI) and postoperative follow-up data; 4. Final follow-up time >= 1 year postoperatively.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with concurrent metacarpophalangeal joint fracture; 2. Patients with grade II–III collateral ligament injury; 3. Patients with pre-existing metacarpophalangeal joint osteoarthritis; 4. Patients with repeated trauma to the same finger within 1 year after surgery; 5. Patients with incomplete follow-up data who cannot be evaluated for efficacy.
