Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Community elderly population: Inclusion criteria: (1) Age >= 60 years; (2) Conscious and able to cooperate with completing various assessments; (3)Commitment to cooperate with long-term follow-up for the local permanent resident population (residency >=9 months per year). 2.Normal young adults in the otology department: (1)Age 18-25 years (2)Pure-tone hearing thresholds at all frequencies (0.125 kHz - 8 kHz) <=10 dB. (3) Normal health status, without any symptoms of ear disease, no cerumen impaction in the ear canal, no history of excessive noise exposure, no history of ototoxic substance use, or familial hearing loss. 3. Longitudinal Follow-up Study In addition to meeting the aforementioned inclusion and exclusion criteria, patients enrolled in the longitudinal follow-up study must also satisfy the following criteria: (1) Sensorineural hearing loss; (2) Symmetrical bilateral hearing (i.e., the interaural threshold difference at each of the frequencies 0.5 kHz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, and 4 kHz is <=15 dB); (3) Absence of hearing loss attributable to non-age-related factors.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: 1. Unable to cooperate with pure-tone audiometry 2. Neurological diseases: Parkinson's disease, stroke, intracranial tumor or trauma; 3. Major systemic diseases: combined with severe cardiac, pulmonary, hepatic, or renal insufficiency, or advanced malignant tumors, with an expected survival period of <3 years; 4. Any other situation deemed by the researcher to be unsuitable for participation in this study.
