Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. This study included patients who were comprehensively staged as AJCC 8th edition T4a or T4b based on preoperative imaging assessment, intraoperative findings, and postoperative pathological examination, and who were histologically confirmed to have papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) after surgery; 2. All patients underwent their initial surgical treatment for thyroid cancer at our hospital; 3. Inclusion criteria were age =18 years; 4. Complete clinical, pathological, surgical, and follow-up data sufficient for prognostic analysis and model construction.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. patients who underwent non-primary surgeries or reoperations due to local recurrence or residual disease; 2. patients with other types of thyroid malignancies whose pathological types were not papillary thyroid carcinoma; 3. patients under 18 years of age; 4. patients with missing and irreplaceable clinical data, surgical records, pathological findings, or critical follow-up data; 5. patients with synchronous malignancies that could potentially interfere with survival outcomes.
