Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Normal-weight children: 1. Aged 9–10 years with a normal BMI; 2. No known metabolic diseases; 3. Voluntary participation in the experiment, with informed consent signed. Obese children: 1. Aged 9–10 years (grades 3–4 in primary school), obesity determined according to the Screening for Overweight and Obesity Among School-Aged Children and Adolescents (WS/T 586); 2. No known metabolic diseases; 3. Voluntary participation in the experiment, with informed consent signed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals diagnosed with oral, hepatic, renal, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic urinary tract infections, autoimmune diseases, anemia, or thyroid dysfunction at or above secondary-level hospitals; 2. Those on long-term oral medication such as diuretics or glucocorticoids; 3. Participation in other clinical trials within the past 3 months.
