Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 14 and 50 years; 2. A chest X-ray or CT scan from the current visit shows unilateral pneumothorax; 3. A chest CT scan shows pulmonary bullae on the affected side; 4. The air leak has persisted for more than 3 days; 5. History of pneumothorax on the same or opposite side.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Imaging findings indicating a pulmonary bulla with a diameter =5 cm; 2. History of prior surgery on the same side of the chest or pleural fixation; 3. Tension pneumothorax; 4. Secondary spontaneous pneumothorax (i.e., iatrogenic, traumatic, or caused by underlying pulmonary disease); 5. Bilateral pneumothorax; 6. Hemothorax; 7. Pregnancy or lactation; 8. Active pulmonary infection; 9. Inability to tolerate medical thoracoscopy due to hemodynamic instability (blood pressure =90/60 mmHg) or severe hypoxemia (PaO2/FiO2 < 250); 10. Coagulation disorders.
