Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Histologically confirmed rectal adenocarcinoma without any prior anti-tumor therapy; 2. Underwent 3.0T rectal MRI (conventional sequences and time-dependent diffusion [TDD] sequences) and colonoscopic biopsy at our hospital within 2 weeks prior to treatment initiation; 3. Clinical imaging stage of locally advanced disease (T3-4a or N+, M0); 4. Completed standard NCRT at our hospital, underwent follow-up 3.0T rectal MRI (conventional and TDD-MRI sequences) within 2 weeks post-treatment, and underwent radical surgery 6-8 weeks after treatment completion; 5. Colonoscopic and surgical specimens were available, with complete clinical data and provision of informed consent to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Concurrent second primary malignancy, or systemic/genetic diseases; 2. Distant metastasis detected before or during surgery; 3. Incomplete NCRT, failure to undergo surgery as scheduled, or receipt of palliative surgery; 4. Intolerance to rectal MRI or colonoscopy; 5. Rectal MRI or colonoscopy images of inadequate quality for research evaluation; 6. Refusal to participate in the study or loss to follow-up.
