Anxiety and Depression

Interventions

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) intervention group:Participants received an 8 week group CBT intervention delivered once per week.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) intervention group:Participants received an 8 week group ACT intervention delivered once per week.
Control group:Following the intervention, participants are provided with the materials of the two group intervention protocols.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants were college students (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral) aged 18–50 years, who scored =5 on both the PHQ-9 and GAD-7.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with suicidal or self-injurious ideation or behavior; those with complex psychiatric conditions (e.g., psychotic symptoms, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder [ADHD] that is not well-controlled, taking psychiatric medication for less than two months, post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD], etc.); or those with other physical illnesses that preclude normal participation in group intervention activities.
