Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. The main language used on a daily basis is Mandarin Chinese. 2. Meets the clinical diagnostic criteria for stuttering as outlined in DSM-5; 3. In the topic discussions with more than 250 words, the frequency of stuttering speech among children was higher than 3%. 4. Stuttering-like speech disfluency persists for more than six months. 5. During the test, the children did not have any conditions that affected their mental state, such as a cold or fatigue. 6. Age: 6-12 years old. Inclusion criteria for healthy subjects: age, gender, dexterity, intelligence, and matched group of children with developmental stuttering; No history of stuttering or language disorders; No family history of neurological or psychiatric disorders.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Combine other neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy and autism, etc. 2. Secondary or acquired stuttering: brain trauma, encephalitis and stroke, etc. 3. There are contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations, such as the presence of metal implants and claustrophobia. 4. The guardian's refusal to participate, inability to cooperate with follow - up, and interference with data collection. 5. Suffering from organic speech disorders such as articulation disorder, aphasia, cleft palate, and hearing impairment.
