Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the ASD group: (1) Children aged 4–16 years; (2) Meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as confirmed by two or more professionals at the level of attending physician or higher; (3) The participant or guardian fully understands the content of the informed consent form for this trial and voluntarily signs the informed consent form. Exclusion criteria for the TD group: (1) Healthy children matched for age (+/-6 months) and gender ratio with the case group; (2) No history of neurodevelopmental disorders and normal physical development; (3) Enrolled in a regular school or kindergarten; (4) The participant or guardian fully understands the content of the informed consent form for this trial and voluntarily signs the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ASD exclusion criteria: (1) Known hereditary disorders; (2) Other severe neurological disorders; (3) Severe visual, hearing, or physical impairments that prevent cooperation during the assessment; (4) Individuals who have experienced a major family crisis within the past 6 months that has significantly affected their emotional state. Exclusion Criteria for the TD Group: (1) History of any psychiatric diagnosis (e.g., ADHD, anxiety disorders, etc.); (2) Family history of ASD or other severe psychiatric disorders among first-degree relatives; (3) Currently taking psychiatric medications.
