Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants were chosen from among permanent residents in areas exposed to arsenic, specifically those who had resided there for over a decade and were able to participate in questionnaire surveys and sample collection. An epidemiological link exists between arsenic exposure and poisoning; thus, cases were identified as representative patients with arsenic poisoning from the arsenic-exposed region. Control subjects were selected as permanent residents from the same arsenic-exposed area who did not exhibit arsenic poisoning.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with non-arsenic-related skin diseases, elderly and frail individuals with severe illnesses unable to cooperate with investigations, those with a history of occupational arsenic exposure, and individuals who have consumed seaweed or seafood in the past week.
