Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Cohort 1 (1) Students enrolled in general high school or secondary vocational programs at special education schools: the hearing loss group includes students with bilateral severe or profound sensorineural hearing loss, defined as an average hearing threshold >65 dB in the better ear at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz; the control group includes students with normal hearing, defined as a bilateral average hearing threshold 65 dB in the better ear at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz; (2) No history of cochlear implantation; (3) Age 12–30 years; (4) Duration of hearing loss greater than 5 years; (5) Voluntary participation and ability to cooperate with questionnaire surveys, sample collection, and follow-up.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.A history of central nervous system diseases such as schizophrenia, intellectual disability, autism, and epilepsy; Visual disability History of digestive system diseases, metabolic diseases, and tumor diseases. 2.History of antibiotic use in the past three months; I have been taking probiotic and prebiotic preparations for the past month. 3.A history of complex ear diseases such as long-term chronic otitis media, Meniere's syndrome, large vestibular aquaptor syndrome, and deafness syndrome.
