Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. We will enroll patients scheduled for elective gasless transoral vestibular thyroidectomy or conventional open thyroidectomy at our hospital. 2. All participants shall provide voluntary participation and sign written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with chronic cough associated with smoking, gastroesophageal reflux, or other etiologies; 2. Pulmonary infection; 3. History of previous neck surgery or radiotherapy; 4. Retrosternal goiter; 5. Distant metastasis and suspected invasion of adjacent organs, such as the esophagus, trachea, or recurrent laryngeal nerve.
