Remimazolam combined with sevoflurane group (RS group):Intravenous infusion of remimazolam combined with continuous inhalation of sevoflurane
Propofol group (Group P):Continuous infusion of propofol

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. CEA is scheduled for patients with moderate to severe carotid artery stenosis confirmed by preoperative ultrasound or digital subtraction angiography; 2. No restrictions on gender, age over 18 years, BMI less than 30 kg/m^2; 3. ASA classification II or III; 4. No severe cardiovascular, cerebrovascular diseases, or abnormal liver and kidney function.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Allergic to the drugs used in this study; 2. Abnormal preoperative muscle strength examination, with damage to the limb conduction pathway or contraindications to electrophysiological monitoring; 3. Presence of severe intracranial lesions such as bleeding or brain tumors; 4. Preoperative National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score >= 4; 5. Presence of mental and neurological diseases, cognitive dysfunction, or long-term use of sedative and analgesic drugs; 6. Presence of tandem vascular stenosis or other diseases that may interfere with study results.
