Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.The subjects are mainly recruited from the PICU of Kunming Children's Hospital and collaborating multi-center hospitals; 2. Participants must fulfill the pediatric sepsis criteria published by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (infection + PSS >= 2); 3. Positive viral PCR or targeted NGS in the viral group,and documented bacterial infection in the bacterial group; 4. Post-natal age > 28 days and <= 18 years; 5. Volunteers who agreed to participate and provided written informed consent; 6. Complete medical records available.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Neonates or infants born at <37 weeks’ gestation; 2. Previous malignancy or hematologic disorders; 3. Primary immunodeficiency; 4. Children whose legal guardians decline participation; 5. Incomplete medical records.
