18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) Group (without DKD): (1) Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) 7.0%–10.0%. (2) Stable treatment with 3 months. (3) Negative for proteinuria, normal serum creatinine, and no abnormal findings on fundus examination. (4) Matched for sex and age with the diabetic kidney disease group. 2. Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD) Group: (1) Age 18–75 years. (2) Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) 7.0%–10.0%. (3) Stable treatment with 3 months. (4) Treated with the maximum tolerated dose of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitors for >3 months. (5) Normal blood pressure or well-controlled hypertension. (6) Voluntary participation, willingness to cooperate with the study, and provision of signed informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Type 1 diabetes mellitus, other specific types of diabetes, or gestational diabetes. 2. Known severe non-diabetic kidney disease; recent history of acute renal failure requiring dialysis; or renal transplantation. 3. Uncontrolled hypertension. 4. Severe diabetic complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome, and lactic acidosis; or severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (e.g., stroke, transient ischemic attack, acute coronary syndrome, or heart failure within 90 days prior to screening). 5. Current use of glucocorticoids or other medications affecting blood glucose. 6. Patients with impaired consciousness or psychiatric disorders who may be unable to cooperate with the study. 7. Pregnancy or lactation.
